I think there is a great deal of applicability of this to many of the ways in which new things are happening in old structures.

It's a bigger question than just having younger people passively resisting the impartation of 'knowledge'. I think it is a reflection of how the whole world has changed while those that equip the young to function in it have neither the life experience to start pointing young people in the right direction, nor are acknowledged as having a particularly worthwhile role in society as valued by 'how much they earn' where earnings are mistaken for 'worth' and all those altruistic reasons are just not entered onto the accounting sheet that society seems to think is so important.
