This is me, succombing to the seductive siren call of posting to the net in some form or another. Not for any other reason, but the hope that I might encourage myself to write a little more frequently and possibly improve. The implication I get from most of the blogs I have been perusing is that they all have both some personal reason as well as a more "professional" reason to post.
Years ago I used to have a personal website, but going to university sort of ate into the time I had to maintain or even write to it. So I took it down. University is a very strange experience, I think that it also makes one think in different ways, it certainly has made me consider life in a different light in some respects. It also makes me realise that if the university life is encountered as a young person, it would definately make one change the way in which one thinks - but I don't think the change in thinking style would actually be noticable. I've noticed, but only because I was a "mature age student". But sometimes I don't notice that my thinking have changed, until after I have said or written something and then the insidious thought inserts itself into my consciousness that "I didn't used to think like that"! I find it a quite intriguing thought ... and also a bit scary, as in I had spent my life thinking in one mode and now I recognise that I am thinking in a different one. It's a bit like moving from one's old spectacles to a new pair with a new prescription, suddenly the world looks both clearer and more confusing as one can see new aspects to familiar concepts.
Anyway, you will probably get introduced to various members of my family and friends, work situations and thinking processes as I update this blog as and when inspired. I think I will endeavour to play with it at least once a week, which sounds quite slack, but I have never been very good at keeping a daily anything (except possibly eating and sleeping on a very daily schedule).
