My bestest dog

I just have to let the world know, my dog earnt herself a new name last night. We had been to my parents to celebrate my mother's 70th birthday all nice and quietly (at her request) and had a lovely time, so we were delightfully tired and feeling rather pleased with ourselves. So, since we got home rather late, we had to let the dog out for a breath of fresh air, as one does, whilst the spouse and I made a cuppa before bedtime and sorted through the odd thing ready for this morning.

I suddenly realised that Yonja had been outside quite a while ... much longer than usual, and was suspiciously quiet. So I went to the door to call her in, only to realise that she was posed in an odd way, glancing at the door and making little 'come here' noises. So I investigated.

My dog is now called Yonja Jamtart Wigglebottom Frog-finder, because she had found this little olive green and brown frog with elegantly long lemon toes and bright black froggy blinky eyes, about 5 cm long and cute as a button!
I was so excited!

This morning when I let Yonja out, she made directly for where she had found the little frog last night and looked so disappointed when it wasn't there. I do hope it made its way safely back to the pond over the road before the sun came up and the birds would be able to see it!
