Ananova - Llamas leap to injured farmer's defence

I have a friend who farms alpacas, the fibre producing type of camelid from South America originally, just like the llama who are more beasts of burden. Makes me wonder if they are also like this in the defence of their 'boss'?

I rather like the fibre they produce, and I'm looking forward to getting my hands on some later this year (or possibly next since the year is almost over). It's lovely and soft and comes in some delightful colours ... a toss up between the honey-golds and the black for me though!
