I've been using a PalmPilot for four or five years now. I love my little "spare brain" that carries all sorts of stuff without me having to remember it, is searchable and accessible (providing I have backed it up and charged/changed the batteries) and is great for taking that note down once and then transferring it to more useful form when I get home.
It is almost embarrassing to think that if I lost it, I would feel even more disorganised than I already do on occasion. About the only thing I don't use it for is playing games on (and solitaire is not a game ... it's a means to allow your brain to breathe - that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it *G*)
