So, we manage to create yet more hatred because those up the top of the power tree have an apparent ideology to refuse access if is it politically unappealing immediately.

Interesting observation: Of the 433 asylum seekers on the Tampa, 131 were accepted by New Zealand and 302 sent to Nauru. in 2001. As of October 15, 2005 all but two remaining asylum seekers had been transferred to mainland Australia with the majority of these entering the community with temporary protection visas. Yet the impression most people still have is that they were all terrorists and other miscreats out to do us mischief ... funny that!

It would be a nice touch if restitution could be made, but all that has been made in this case is yet more hatred of those of us who have 'the good life' compared to where this family has been sent back to, and the way in which those who are 'detained' have been treated.
