An ALA paper that may (or may not) have relevance to the Australian copyright scene. I'm still trying to get my head around this whole 'copyright' thing; Publishing and making available one's ideas is the whole point, I always thought, of writing a book. Having one's ideas referred to by others, quoted and used to create more ideas is the whole point of reproducing in quantity (aka printing) so that those ideas can be shared.
Locking up the ideas is like chopping trees down because they get in the way of the view, totally missing the point that the trees (the ideas) are the view.

I'm still thinking about some of the stuff in this paper. I may add more to this thought at a later date.
