Trawling through favourite blogs this evening I thought I would follow this particular meme from an old Ruminations and was appropriately amused - especially when I realised that I had the choice of six books that were equidistant from my hand.
The rules are:
* Get the book nearest to you. Right now.
* Go to page 56.
* Find the 5th sentence.
* Write this sentence - either here or on your blog.
* Copy these instructions as commentary of your sentence.
* Don’t look for your favorite book or your coolest but really the nearest.
Mapping Inner Space Nancy Margulies and Nusa Maal (2002) Crown House Publishing, Wales. ISBN 1904424473
Considering that I am currently involved in a project to use Web2.0 technologies to assist in the creation of a community of practice, I have a feeling that asking the people who are the 'target audience' exactly what they want in an information website is very important step.
One thing I think will be important will be mobile phone access, there are so many people starting to use that form of net-access.
Mind you, a quick check of the other books produce sentences that;
make me realise, yet again, that I have have a horribly eclectic reading habit;
I don't practice the art of just writing stuff down as much as I perhaps should; and,
if I had included all the quotes from those six books, I would have almost had an entry for the Bulwer Lytton contest this year!

The audience will be much more engaged if you ask them for ideas and add their input to the map
