Checking out the Library Hack entries it struck me that many of the photo entries reminded me of this video about Sketchbook Secrets.
I've kept a notebook/journal/sketchbook for years, but because "print was sacred" in our house when I was small, it has only recently dawned on me that cutting up magazines or photocopying rather than drawing and sticking them into my journal and "manipulating the image" was acceptable! I am slow of learning at times.
Though I also think there may have been an element of fear of failure, of not 'getting it right' that prevented me. Strange how the things one thinks one hears from one's parents bump along in the undergrowth of one's mind frightening oneself from making the failures that lead to success.
I'm going to spend today finding images from Trove that fit some of the thoughts I'm thinking today. And then I will manipulate them and recreate them in the image I want to make. I think I will have fun!
