And the answer is … 42?
Fossicking around this evening I’ve found a bit of a ‘blast from the past’
in some ways. It certainly brings back good memories. The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy was one of our favourite audio-stories … waiting with baited breath (so, we would have kippers for breakfast) for the next episode to air on the radio.
My parents laughed and said our commitment to this radio serial reminded them of their earlier years when “The Goons” were eagerly awaited each week.
Not only does it revive the delicious Sunday morning memory of lounging in bed with my beloved, listening to the images created in our heads by the words, but it reminds me of our first computer, a Commodore64 (and who didn’t start with one of those?) that has named all our subsequent computers because a little girl played on the box it came in, convinced that she was making the pictures on the TV work *G*
Those were pretty good years. Good memories.
Funny how, despite the nice-ness of all the graphics engines… for me it is still the words that make for the pictures in my mind that make it all work. Perhaps the translators of St John’s gospel were right in saying, “In the beginning was the Word …”
