Medieval Mustard
Brings a whole new meaing to sharp-tongued ... what intrigues though it the thought that a household would use 85lb of mustard in a year! That's about 35kg ... I don't think I've even SEEN that much mustard in one place.
But it makes one think &em; how much mustard, pepper, salt and various other herbs and spices do I actually use in a year? Probably a lot less than my ancestors did in medieval times, and almost certainly not in the same way.
