spacesounds - We are listening
The intro is a bit slow loading, but is quite fascinating. Bits of my childhood caught in sound-bites of hard science and great adventure. Being reminded of the big dreams that were there in the gestalt thirty and forty years ago.

Where have they all gone? Dreams these days seem to be so much smaller and the gestalt meaner and less generous. The big romantic dreams of conquering the solar system; of improving the lot of everyone on this good Earth of ours; of finding ways to understand not only the what of the world but the why of people too?
Dreams today seem so small and tawdry on occasion ... How can one dream about things as being important? Things anchor one to the here and now, they offer no "treasure in heaven". They entrap and enslave us in many ways, leaving no room for those other dreams that make life better for everyone.

And I am as guilty as the rest for reducing the size of my dreams to what might be possible and achievable, instead of something that is worthy of achievement just because ...

I think I need to rediscover how to dream bigger. If I dream bigger, then perhaps I can encourage those who have a greater influence than I do, to dream bigger for all of us again.
