Ross Gittins then goes and adds to the woes with his "Unravelling the plastic money maze" on the Sydney Morning Herald site.

It's enough to make you wonder why we so compliantly follow the lead of the money institutions while they make money out of us, when I reckon the majority of people (me included) were under the impression that we were being provided with a service!

*sigh* Sometimes it is all just so disheartening.
