6/100 books, a BBC meme?

Swiped from Ruminations with absolutely no shame, but with fascination because every time I come across some list of this nature, I find that the links to others who have also contemplated it, nearly always have a slightly different list. Perhaps only one or two different titles to be chose from, which is it's own fascination, but the different selections are intriguing too.

I look at the ones I've read and compare to the ones others have read and wonder when they read the same ones as me, and what made them select and finish the others that I didn't choose.

And I sometimes wonder how much my taste in stories has changed over the years, because this list is, in many ways, so short!

Have you read more than 6 of these books? The BBC believes most people will have read only 6 of the 100 books listed here.

Instructions: Bold those books you’ve read in their entirety, italicize the ones you started but didn’t finish or read an excerpt.
