Social happiness could prove to be a contagious idea

This line of thought reminded me of Bokononism, the religion Kurt Vonnegut invented in his novel Cat's Cradle. One of its tenets is that everyone is part of a karass — a group of people who are working together to do God's will. The other members of our karass can be unknown to us, but are revealed before we die.
